I keep the label in the glove box.

This should say All-Trac, but whatever.

man, 15 combined and 18 highway! good times there. I once saw 16, but its usually around 13. I filled up this morning for 13.5
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:32 |

That doesn't have cars that weren't sold in the US.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:32 |

I'll play your game you rogue!
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:32 |

Shit, I'm supposed to run premium in this.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:33 |
|
No, the EPA doesn't really rate cars that you can't buy in the US...
Also, you will notice you can find heavy duty vehicles, as they aren't rated.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:33 |
|
This says a lot about fueleconomy.gov, especially since I've never seen 20mpg in mine (best was 27mpg and worst was 21 I think).
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:33 |

All-Trac? NIIIIIIIICCEEE.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:34 |

I don't believe I ever got better than 13 combined. With a 5.0 and all that weight it always felt like I was going too fast. You could feel that auto locker engage every time you tried fast cornering. I wish it had an off switch. No oppo. :-(
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:34 |

you won or have recently owned 8 cars?
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:34 |

Well, technically it's 4wd Turbo since I'm in Europe, but it's the same car anyways.

Here you go. Thats pretty impressive, so far you are in the lead.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:36 |

Intensive use vehicles aren't rated, yet cars that probably see 500 miles a wee are? Makes sense.

Still own but not my DD

Worst: 93 Holden Commodore 3.8 V6, 4-spd auto....
Avg: 18.23mpg (US)
Current: 08 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI (140)
Real avg MPG: 44mpg
H: 50mpg L: 34mpg
(all converted to US gallons)
Didnt see the 10 year rule, sorry and i'm cheating by not having USDM cars :(

The only problem with this game is that it doesn't take into account mods.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:38 |

thats true, i suspect I will actually get this mileage with my new tires. Right now im beating it, oddly.

I loved this car (also loved the Mazda 3s hatch I had after it).
I love my current car more, though.
16 mpg combined, and is a sedan. Any guesses?
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:40 |

Label is LIES. I'm seeing 16.5-17.4 returns, each tank. Easy 50/50 split.
Label is also lies. (When it ran) I saw high-20s to low 30s. Sometimes nearly 35 MPG.

This is the closest I could get. They didn't have my option of the 5.9L Magnum with a manual. Oh well.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:42 |
|
yeah, im doing better than my label too, but not by much. I think since they obviously can't test the cars again, they simply apply a mathematical formula based on the new methodology, and it gets it wrong often.

My DD, mine is a 3 door though.

Black spider, yes, her name is "Calvina."
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:46 |

nope, though im pretty sure its just dirty injectors. I have been seafoaming the tank every 3rd fillup and its happening a lot less frequently. I was thinking about having the injectors bench flowed. It seems to have gotten a lot better with a new evaporation canister too.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:46 |

Not sure why there is a ten year old rule, so newest to oldest listed below. Either way looks like I'm just mid pack. But glad to see the mpgs are always getting better!

My friend had the b4000 of about that vintage. Reliable, but terrible, his new Tacoma is so much better.

Congratulations new score board leader!
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:48 |

The 10 year old rule is to wead out all the high fuel economy machines that started in the last decade. And Im amazed the SC does so poorly and the cherokee so well. I was looking at an SC this morning thinking, boy that car has aged well, I could get into that. Too bad about the 4 speed though.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:49 |

P.S. The e85 rating has to be wrong.. Swear the couple time i tried it was barely breaking 10 mpg's. Thanks for saving me 50 cents at the pump..
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:54 |

Ok , I cheated, never owned one, but plan to ride in one someday!
![]() 09/12/2013 at 11:56 |

The had a manual 5.9 option? excellent!
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:00 |

Well, the VW was built in late 2003, so it just squeaks by on your 10-year rule.
Huh. I guess neither gets great gas mileage.

Here is the data for the Jetta, of course I usually do better than that (around 32)
No bikes on the site, but mine does terribly (for a bike), usually around 40MPG
And the 86? With how I drive, I average between 22 and 24 mpg (no city), but did manage a respectable 33.6 mpg on a long highway trip I took recently.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:02 |
|
I love my truck. I've beat the snot out of it, but it just keeps going. I actually average 18-18.5 mpg (majority highway) during the summer. Hit 19.2 driving back down for school, highest I've ever gotten. During the winter mileage drops from because I'm in the city fro college (I saw 12.4 last winter)
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:03 |
|
Ahh I see, and just fyi I always got 20-22mpg in the SC. Also If memory serves me right, they gave it a 5spd in either '95, '96 or 97' when it got a refresh.
P.S. I still miss it.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:04 |

manual? cause i might be looking into that next.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:06 |
|
I honestly don't know. All I know is I have a manual with the 5.9L Magnum in it with the 5.9L Badges on the side. Maybe the previous owner swapped in the engine and stuck the badges on. I don't know.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:06 |
|
Still shoots pretty well where those numbers are concerned, weak turbo or no.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:08 |
|
Sadly no, only the SC300 had a manual option. But that still is a great car, because you know "2JZ, no shit"

Still gets 40-41MPG after 208k miles.

Supercharged 14 year old car and I do better than that :)

Slightly less than 10 years old. But anyways:
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:26 |

Do you have a 5.9RT?
If so, RT's were four speed auto only, so it's a swap.
If it's not an R/T, then the 5.9 was swapped in.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:26 |

My truck is actually a F250 with a V10 which the site does not have listed. This is at the high side of what I actually get though. Normally its 12 mpg.

Heavy duty Vehicles over a certain GVWR aren't EPA tested. I tried to find the old 454 k2500 suburban, but it aint there.

I also have this:
and regret selling that:

I saw this coming, just be glad you don't have the 91.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:38 |

looked up my 1996 dodge ram 1500 4wd and it gets 12 avg - 8.3 gallons per 100 miles and I put 150k on that. 8.3 x 1500 = 12450 gallons of gas @ 3.50 = $43,575 in gas. Granted gas was actually $2 a gallon so technically $25,000 in gas. Still as much if not more than the truck.

My DD. I've had it for 4 years, and in 1.5 years it's eligible for "Antique Car" Plates here in Tennessee.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:54 |

It's a 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT with the 5.9L Magnum engine with the badges on the front fender.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:54 |

Actually not that bad for an 80s V8. I usually get around 20 on more relaxed tanks.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 12:55 |

My moms old van which we still have for some reason. Actually worse on gas than the Corvette, but at least it takes regular gas.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 13:40 |
|
Just realised something, my Civic has the 1.4 litre, that engine probably got even better mileage. Doesn't seem like it was available in the US though so the 1.6 will have to do.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 17:37 |

I just noticed that the Isuzu Hombre's stats are IDENTICAL to what it says my Celica does. Even the emissions are the same!
![]() 09/12/2013 at 17:49 |

Well, I think I would win. This is for the 350, mine has the 454.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 17:52 |

I went looking for one of my old rides, a 1997 k2500 454 suburban...they don't test vehicles over a certain GVWR though. You think you got it bad, try adding 4wd...and a supercharger.
![]() 09/12/2013 at 17:57 |

You're a madman!
It's not so bad. It's my Mexico truck, so I don't drive it enough to feel the pain.

My wife's old Navimonster.
I once got 19.2 average out of it over a full tank - now I'm really impressed with myself.
![]() 09/13/2013 at 12:43 |
|
wow, were they really that bad? that's genuinely amazing.
![]() 09/13/2013 at 12:53 |
|
Yeah, 'fraid so.
The economy gauge overhead (where it can be seen from cars behind, and effectively screams at everyone in the vehicle) is so depressing in that vehicle.
The biggest thing for us was that it was purchased in summer-ish. Big 4WD behemoth. Should be great in snow, right?
Wrong. It defaulted to RWD until slippage was sensed, then it would cut in the center diff for AWD. Great! Except for the little detail that you're already sideways through whatever intersection it was. My wife was very much unhappy with that, and we lived just north of Syracuse, NY at the time. Snow was a way of life.
It DID make strange sense when we had even more snow than usual one year. With it, we could actually see over the snowbanks. But that was short-lived.
![]() 09/13/2013 at 17:13 |

that shouldnt count!

Sadly, it looks like you were beaten by both a Ford Expedition and a Ferrari. You will have to try harder next time to waste fuel.

And to think I get 21 on the highway with better injectors.
